Île Notre-Dame, Montréal, Québec, Canada
On Île Notre-Dame, in the middle of the Saint Lawrence, this complex occupies pavilions built for Expo 67 and later joined together. The site is reached by bridge from the city and lies within Parc Jean-Drapeau, with water on several sides. The pavilion structures were kept and extended, so the exterior still reads as work of the nineteen-sixties.
The parts described here are the restaurants, the bars, the hall used for live programmes, and the upper levels that look out over the river and the city. Circulation runs vertically through the old pavilion cores. Terraces face the water, and the surrounding park is public. Accommodation is provided at the hotel on the same site.
Hours differ between the restaurants and the live programme, so it is worth asking directly before travelling. Access to the island depends on the bridge and shuttle arrangements in force, which change with the season and with what is happening in the park.

Fallsview Casino Resort
Casino Hotels
Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada
Built into the slope above the Niagara gorge, this resort sits largely within the hillside, its public levels stepping down towards the falls. The address is on Fallsview Boulevard, a short walk from the parkland along the river. Because of the section, entrances stand at different heights and the building reads as far smaller from the street than it is.
Beyond the accommodation there is a theatre used for concerts and other performances, a spa, a group of restaurants, retail arcades, and galleries running between the levels. Several rooms and dining spaces face the gorge. Covered walkways connect the resort to neighbouring hotels and to the footpaths through the parkland.
Ask which restaurants and which levels are open on your dates, as some of them work seasonally. Tickets for the theatre are handled apart from accommodation, so check with the resort how and when those are released, and ask which walkways are open if you plan to arrive on foot.

River Rock Casino Resort
Casino Hotels
Richmond, British Columbia, Canada
Beside the middle arm of the Fraser River in Richmond, this resort stands on a waterfront site with a marina and a walkway along the water. Vancouver International Airport is close by, and the city centre is reached by rail transit. The complex groups its buildings around arrival courts, and the water side is kept for the public walkway.
The site holds a concert hall used for touring performances, a spa, several restaurants and cafes, meeting rooms, and hotel accommodation in two buildings. The waterfront path is open and joins the wider Richmond dyke route. Interior circulation is level, and it links the accommodation with the public rooms under cover.
Check performance dates and hall access with the resort, since the schedule is set well ahead. If you want a room facing the water, say so when you write, and ask about shuttle arrangements to the airport and to the transit station.

Casino Rama Resort
Casino Hotels
Rama, Ontario, Canada
North of Orillia, this resort stands on the lands of the Chippewas of Rama First Nation, near Lake Couchiching. It is owned by the First Nation and sits in open country rather than in a town, so arrival is usually by road. The buildings are low and spread across the site, with accommodation in a tower above the public levels.
There is an entertainment hall used for concerts, a spa, a group of restaurants, and meeting and conference rooms. Work by Indigenous artists is shown through the public areas. The grounds are open, and the country around is lake and farmland. Accommodation and the public rooms are linked internally, under cover.
Concert dates and restaurant hours vary, so confirm both before travelling. Ask also about bus and shuttle services from Toronto and from Orillia, and about which public rooms are in use if you come outside the busier months.
